Belfast-based circus arts organisation Circusful will deliver a packed programme of street theatre, performance and interactive fun at City Hall this Friday, as part of Orangefest celebrations on 12 July.
From towering stilt walkers to high-energy unicyclists and award-winning magic, the Circusful performers promise a vibrant spectacle in the heart of the city.
Shows include FizzWizzPop, Northern Ireland’s much-loved magician known for her eccentric energy and crowd-pleasing illusions, performing at 11.30am and 1.30pm. Also taking to the stage is The Mac Factor, circus artist Paul McAtarsney, who brings a mix of juggling, fire skills and comic characters to his shows at 12.30pm and 3pm.
Roaming the grounds throughout the day will be a host of colourful characters including Mr Wizzy on his clown bike (12.30–2.30pm), unicycling performer Timmy, and stilt walkers Louise Wilson and Louise Glendinning. Walkabout acts will engage with visitors between 10.30am and 4.30pm, creating a lively and interactive atmosphere.
Circusful’s long-standing reputation for transforming public spaces through performance continues with hands-on opportunities too. The Community Tribal Drummers will run a participatory drumming workshop from 11.45am to 12.45pm, while younger visitors can enjoy free face painting with artist Romy McKeever from 12pm to 3pm.
Founded in 1985 and based in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter, Circusful has helped shape Northern Ireland’s circus arts scene for nearly four decades. Their inclusive approach to performance and training continues to bring joy and creativity to streets and festivals across the region.
The Orangefest event at City Hall is free and open to the public.
