About Orangefest

Orangefest is a vibrant celebration that runs alongside the annual 12th of July parades in Belfast. 

Established in 2007, Orangefest aims to foster a peaceful and harmonious society by celebrating the rich and diverse cultures of Northern Ireland. 

The event is dedicated to making the 12th of July a family-friendly occasion, enhancing the well-known parades with a variety of inclusive, entertaining activities. 

Each year, Orangefest attracts thousands of participants and spectators, contributing significantly to the local economy and tourism.

On the 12th of July, from 10.00 am to 3.30 pm, Belfast City Hall and Royal Avenue will be transformed into a hub of family-friendly activities and entertainment.

12th July Parade

The 335th annual demonstration of the Battle of the Boyne will depart from Clifton Street (North Belfast) and make its way towards Royal Avenue before arriving at Belfast City Hall for 10.20am.

As we enjoy the spectacle of the 335th annual demonstration of the Battle of the Boyne, Belfast City Hall will offer a feast of activities for all the family. 
 
From an international food market to award-winning street theatre and circus performances, there’s something for everyone. 
 
Come along and immerse yourself in the vibrant celebrations of Orangefest, ensuring a day filled with fun, culture, and community spirit.
International Food Market
Food NI and Taste of Ulster will set up a food market on the East Lawn of City Hall, offering a delectable range of local and international foods. Enjoy live cooking demonstrations and savour delicious local produce.
Street Entertainers
Circusful will bring award-winning street theatre, stilt walkers, drummers from different countries, mono wheel acrobatics, and clowns to entertain children and adults alike.
City Hall Tours
Explore the historic Belfast City Hall with guided tours available throughout the morning, providing a glimpse into the city’s rich history.
Open For Business
Retail shops across the city centre will remain open, providing a great opportunity for some shopping amidst the festivities.
Street Dressing
Created by Image Zoo, the streets around City Hall will be adorned with vibrant decorations and display banners, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Memorial Service
The annual cenotaph proceedings will take place at the Belfast War Memorial at 10.30am as the parade passes Belfast City Hall.
Museum of Orange Heritage
Explore the Orange Institution’s history at Belfast’s Museum of Orange Heritage. Free entry, interactive exhibits, shop and café. Open Monday - Saturday, 10am–5pm (including 12th July). Evening visits by arrangement.
12th July Parade
The 335th annual demonstration of the Battle of the Boyne will depart from Clifton Street (North Belfast) at 10am and make its way towards Royal Avenue before arriving at Belfast City Hall for 10.20am where there will be a wreath laying service at the cenotaph. Covering a walk of approximately 12 miles, it is the longest Orange parade anywhere on the Twelfth of July.
Local Food Demos
Food NI will hold three food demos at City Hall on 12th July. Come along to taste Stout Wheaten Bread (11am), Dainty Buttermilk Scones (1pm) and Irish Soda bread (3pm).
