Visitors to Orangefest at Belfast City Hall on Friday 12 July will have the chance to join in with the Community Tribal Drummers from Newcastle, Co Down, during a lively interactive session from 11:45am to 12:45pm.
Led by facilitator Marcella Gilliland, the group welcomes participants of all ages and abilities, offering a hands-on drumming experience that celebrates rhythm, connection, and community.
The open session will feature traditional hand drums including djembes and ashikos giving families the opportunity to get involved and feel the beat for themselves.
Community Tribal Drummers are known for their inclusive and engaging workshops, regularly delivering public sessions and forest drumming experiences across the region. Their appearance at Orangefest adds a unique, participatory dimension to the day’s cultural celebrations.
No experience is needed to take part – just a willingness to drum along.
