The Museum of Orange Heritage in East Belfast will be open to the public on Friday, 12 July, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the history and traditions of the Orange Institution on the most significant day in the loyalist calendar.
Located at Schomberg House on the Cregagh Road, the museum features the largest collection of Orange artefacts in the world. It presents the story of Orangeism from its origins during the Glorious Revolution of 1688 through to its global reach and modern-day relevance.
With interactive exhibits, a replica lodge room, and a memorial window dedicated to over 300 members who died during the Troubles, the museum provides an insight into the institution’s cultural and historical legacy. Visitors can also enjoy the on-site café and shop, with access to educational resources and publications.
Since opening in 2015 as part of a joint initiative by the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland and the County Armagh Grand Orange Lodge, the museum has welcomed over 100,000 visitors. It was supported by the European Union’s PEACE III Programme.
Admission is free, and all visitors are welcome. The museum is open from 10am to 5pm, with last entry at 4pm.
